Other Bands:

Mortician    Vehemence    Impaled

Finally a fantastic band (AKERCOCKE) from my home country of England tours through where I live now, and I was not about to miss the show!  Although not the headliner, we went to this show to see Akercocke and Vehemence.  As for Mortician (headliner) and Impaled, I am not fans of either of them but they do have plenty of followers that were happy to see them.

Impaled were first on the stage.  From the bay area they wore their usual doctor smocks and also had skeleton parts here and there on stage as well.  Like I said, I am not a fan of this band that is because they sound identical to Exhumed and Carcass and I do not like either of those bands.  But they put on their show and got the crowd going.

Vehemence was next.  I found out about this band via the internet and what I heard then impressed me to put them on my site.  So now I can see them live and they did not disappoint us as they punished us with their music.  An awesome Death metal band from Arizona.  This band has been together for nearly 10 years and so they know how to put on a good show.  The pit definitely knew how to provide entertainment to those that wanted to watch people go crazy.

Akercocke.  Well from the beginning this was Satan's message via music.  Akercocke will not hold back their belief in Satan and does not care if you do not like it.  Each song serves a purpose in their quest to carry the message to those that want to hear it and I am one of them.  These guys were amazing, everything was put into each song and I was witness to it right up front in the middle.  If the message was too strong for some, they left for now, but that does not matter because for those of us that follows this band was carried through the valley of death to meet the master.  Am I going overboard on the message here, maybe but maybe not.  The music is awesome and the deliverance of their message perfect.  I am no more a Satanist as I was before the show, but I am more a believer that Akercocke is a band all should listen too.  It was also great to talk to the band members afterwards since we are from the same country.

Mortician closed out the show.  This band has been around for a while now and brings to the stage Death/Grind metal.  Again I am not much into this band but I stayed for a couple of songs before I decided to leave as it was really boring to me.

In closing this review; maybe the next time I will see Akercocke it will be in England, who knows, but I hope so.  It was a good night to see two bands that I wanted to see at the same time, and well worth the money.
